President Ruto Waives Visa Requirements For Angolans Visiting Kenya

The announcement came following a meeting between President Ruto and his Angolan counterpart, Joo Lourenço, who is on a two-day state visit to the country.

President William Ruto has announced Angolans intending to visit Kenya will no longer be required to have a visa.

The announcement came following a meeting between President Ruto and his Angolan counterpart, Joo Lourenço, who is on a two-day state visit to the country.

According to Ruto, this was made possible by the signing of the necessary instruments and trade agreements between the countries.

“We have agreed and I have undertaken to my brother-President Lourenço- that our brothers and sisters in Angola with their passports will now need no visa to come to Kenya,” said Ruto.

“I am very happy that the president has agreed that Angola will equally consider the same when they go back home,” he added.

This, according to Ruto, is a positive step that will allow the people of the two countries to forge strong ties that will help improve the way they do business.

In terms of trade, Ruto acknowledged that it has increased significantly from 60 million in the previous four years to 350 million in 2022 and this year.

According to President Ruto, the trade figures between the two countries favor Kenya, with 96% of goods exported to Angola.

The President also promised to speed up and conclude talks on resuming direct flights to Angola.
