Principal of Nyambaria High School Suspended Over Alleged Exam Irregularity

    The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on Tuesday suspended Nyambaria High School Principal Charles Onyari as Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) centre manager.

    Nyambaria Boys High School in Nyamira County made headlines after topping the 2022 KCSE examination with a mean score of 10.89.

    According to reports, the high school principal has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation into exam irregularities.

    A teacher at the school who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the incident but declined to provide further details.

    “The situation did not affect the exams. We are yet to get complete information on why the Principal was suspended.”

    It was also reported that two other Nyamira County principals had been suspended due to exam irregularities.

    On Tuesday, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu assured the Republic that the KCSE exam would be conducted with the utmost integrity.
