Raila Tells Off DCI Over IEBC Dossier Probe

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has dismissed reports that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate his claims of rigging in the 2022 polls.

According to Raila, the truth can only be revealed if Azimio is allowed to scrutinize the Independence Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers.

While addressing congregants at the Jesus Teaching Ministry in Donholm, Nairobi on Sunday, the ODM boss said Mohamed Amin cannot investigate such a matter because he is President William Ruto’s “employee”.

“I have seen DCI (Mohamed Amin) saying he wants to conduct an investigation. DCI, you are an employee of Ruto, you can not conduct investigations,” Raila stated.

The DCI boss had written to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission over an alleged dossier by a whistle-blower detailing how Raila was cheated of victory.

“Instructively, the complainants contend that there are various manipulations that point to documentary falsification and outright forgery of the subject documents,” read part of the statement.

He stated that the DCI is investigating the validity and authenticity of the documents in question, and has requested that the IEBC provide Forms 34B, which were used to tally, verify, and declare the results of the presidential elections on August 9, 2022.
