Raila To Ruto: Accept You Lost, Leave State House To Baba

Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio la Umoja, has asked President William Ruto to accept that he did not win the presidential elections in August 2022.

Raila blamed Ruto for the country’s high taxation while speaking to congregants at the Jesus Teaching Ministry in Donholm, Nairobi, on Sunday.

“Accept that you were defeated in the election, leave State House for Baba to get in. We are speaking the truth, we do not want war, and we do not want threats. We have our rights as Kenyans, and it can not be snatched by a hawk, Kenyans deserve a leader that they elected,” he said.

Odinga also likened the current government to the biblical tax collector Zacchaeus, known for his unethical and exploitative practices.

During the rally, Odinga urged Kenyans to resist paying taxes, claiming that they were “punitive” and unjust.

“We ask that all Kenyans demand the removal of these punitive taxes,” Odinga said.

“There will be no taxation without representation,” he added, emphasizing his belief that the government was not truly representing the people’s interests.

Odinga went on to say that he would not be intimidated.

The former prime minister also stated that he would be visiting Kibera residents next week, as well as Machakos and other parts of the country, to spread his opposition agenda before returning to Nairobi for another mega rally.
