BY FAITH MUTETE – Southern fried chicken, is a dish consisting of chicken pieces which have been coated and deep fried or pressure fried .The coating adds a crisp coating or crust to the exterior of the chicken while retaining juices in them. Today we are going to learn some simple ways of cooking it
INGREDIENTS
- Chicken pieces ,depending on the number of people your cooking for
- 500ml of milk
- Eggs
- Salt
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- Garlic powder
- Coriander powder
PROCEDURE
- In a bowl beat the eggs and add a pinch of salt and then add the milk little by little as you stir it, it will form a paste.
- Take your pieces of chicken and mix them in your creamy paste and make sure they are well soaked in it
- Store them in the fridge for 2-3 hours undisturbed
- After 2 hours remove the chicken from the marinade and place them in a tray
- Take your chicken and cover them with flour, coriander powder, garlic powder and salt
- After this heat about half a liter of oil and deep fry the chicken in batches
- After they have turned golden brown they are now ready to eat
