Man Begs Lenient Cash Bail To Protect His Wife From Admirers

A security guard charged with assault shocked a judge for insisting on a lenient cash bail to go and protect his wife from admirers.

Japheth Olindo warned the judge that if he stayed in prison too long, others would take his wife away.

Olindo also informed the judge that he had not eaten his favourite meal, Ugali, since he was arrested, and would be unable to follow the proceedings if he did not eat.

The security guard is facing charges of allegedly assaulting three persons in Turbo’s Sugoi neighbourhood on Friday, March 10.

He denied the charges and sought the court to release him on Ksh.2,000 cash bond.

He was eventually released on Ksh.10,000 cash bail. His case will be heard on March 16th.
