Senators Demand EACC Probe Into Sinking Bomet Water Company

Senators now want the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate activities of the Bomet Water and Sanitation Company, which is on the verge of bankruptcy owing to financial mismanagement.

The Lawmakers urged the EACC to speed the investigation, which should target senior former and present utility executives with the goal of prosecuting any found guilty.

The bold move is one of the Senate County Public Investments and Special Funds Committee’s proposals.

Senators expressed worries about the company’s financial stability, citing cash flow issues that had resulted in employees not being paid for four months.

“We direct that the EACC institute investigations into operations of this company and if there are culpable persons they should be prosecuted,” said Senator Osotsi.
