Nakuru Police Arrest 7 Suspects In Mobile Banking Fraud

The National Police Service reports that the operation resulted in the arrest of seven suspects who were discovered to be in possession of 5,000 SIM cards.

An elaborate mobile banking fraud scheme was discovered in the Kiamunyi, Nakuru County under the direction of Nakuru County Police Commander Mr. Peter Mwanzo, CP.

The National Police Service reports that the operation resulted in the arrest of seven suspects who were discovered to be in possession of 5,000 Safaricom and Airtel SIM cards.

14 Safaricom Mobicoms used for SIM registration, 50 mobile phones, seven laptops, and other items allegedly used to run the complex con were also recovered.

The security crew also impounded 4 cars and 2 motorcycles they were thought to have acquired through illegal means.

“The seven are currently being held at the DCI Headquarters awaiting processing and arraignment in court,” said NPS.
