Mr. Edwin Kamau, DCI Director of Training, presided over the official start of an intensive training on Intermediate Online Investigations for officers from the DCI’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit.
The International Justice Mission (IJM) is facilitating a one-week training in collaboration with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to impart skills in pursuing the enhancement of standards for child protection and preventing crimes against children.
Mr. Kamau applauded the course participants, saying he was confident that the training would help to focus on interpreting and investigating missing children reports received from the NCMEC.
He also thanked the IJM for the tremendous assistance it provided the Directorate in establishing a child-friendly interview space in Mombasa.
Mr. Benson Shamala, Country Director of IJM, appreciated the DCI’s partnership in the initiative and the commitment to protecting children from offenders who would exploit and abuse them.
