Sauti Sol’s lead vocalist, Bien Aime Baraza, has offered insights into the rationale behind the Sh20,000 ticket charge for the upcoming SolFest VIP Show – a concert that marks the acclaimed band’s farewell performance.

Scheduled to be held at Uhuru Gardens next month, the announcement of the concert stirred considerable excitement within the music community. Sauti Sol’s decision to take an indefinite hiatus from collective performances added an extra layer of significance to the event.

The VIP ticket holders are promised a 5-star immersive experience, a captivating performance, and an exclusive glimpse into the band’s 20-year journey as they bid adieu to their collective stage presence.

Baraza emphasized that the VIP package encapsulates two decades of shared musical experiences, making it a one-of-a-kind opportunity.

“The reason people are paying Sh20,000 is because Sauti Sol will be giving fans 20 years of experience. We have been together with our fans for 20 years since we started this journey,” said Bien. The exclusive experience includes a private live performance, a lavish 5-star banquet, complimentary drinks, limited edition Sauti Sol merchandise, and the chance to engage with band members.

Despite debates about the ticket cost across social media, Baraza maintained that the depth of the encounter justifies the price. He emphasized the special connection Sauti Sol has cultivated with their fans over the years as the driving force behind this decision.

Former Sol Generation signee, Bensoul, echoed a similar sentiment, suggesting that the VIP tickets might cater more to those without financial constraints.

“If Ksh20,000 to get by November is hard for you, then you have a long way to go. Wacha wenye pesa waende (Let those who have the money attend). One thing I know for sure is we are going to sell out,” Bensoul tweeted confidently. As the event approaches, it’s evident that Sauti Sol’s farewell performance is poised to be a poignant celebration of their remarkable journey, offering fans a chance to relive two decades of musical excellence.
