Police in Nyeri County have arrested a man accused of stealing coffee from a farm in Kagumo Village.
According to authorities, officers at Witima Police Station received a report, from a resident who found an unknown individual harvesting coffee on his farm.
The officers responded swiftly and, with the help of members of the public, apprehended the suspect at the scene.
Police confirmed that the suspect had already picked approximately 15 kilograms of coffee cherries before being caught. He is currently in custody at Witima Police Station and will be arraigned in court.
In a statement, the National Police Service commended the collaboration between residents and law enforcement and reiterated its commitment to protecting lives, property, and livelihoods.
