Suspect Arrested in Connection with Ayieko’s Brutal Murder

Police have apprehended a key suspect linked to the brutal murder of Willis Onyango Ayieko, the former Human Resource Manager at Wells Fargo.

Victor Ouma Okoth, the suspect, was captured in Dandora Phase IV, Nairobi, where he had been hiding after allegedly using the proceeds from the crime to rent a house.

The arrest took place late last night, following a concerted effort by a specialized team of detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), including the Homicide, Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), and Operations units.

Utilizing advanced forensic techniques, investigators placed Okoth at the scene of the crime and established significant links to Ayieko’s murder.

Ayieko’s body was discovered on October 23, at approximately 2 PM, in the Mungowere stream in Yala, Siaya County.

He had been reported missing since October 18, after he was last seen at a funeral in Siaya. Police believe that the suspect and possibly others brutally murdered him before disposing of his body.

The investigation has unveiled disturbing information, with authorities stating that Ayieko’s vehicle was found abandoned in Sabatia, Vihiga County.

CCTV footage from a nearby petrol station captured two unidentified men fleeing the scene after leaving the pick-up truck.

Detectives are currently analyzing additional leads and surveillance footage in an effort to uncover and apprehend other accomplices believed to be involved in the heinous crime.
