A woman suspected of drug trafficking has been arrested in Kamulu, Nairobi, following a successful police operation targeting narcotics dealers in the area.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), officers recovered a staggering 5,660 rolls of bhang (cannabis sativa) from the suspect during a raid in Ruai Sub-County.
The woman was apprehended while in possession of the illicit drugs and is currently being held in custody as she awaits arraignment in court. Police have not yet released her identity, but say investigations are ongoing.
“This arrest is part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking in Nairobi and other regions,” the NPS said in a statement, warning members of the public to steer clear of any involvement in the drug trade.
Authorities have vowed to intensify surveillance and enforcement operations to dismantle drug networks operating in both urban and peri-urban areas, including Kamulu and its surroundings.
The arrest highlights growing concern over the spread of narcotics in Nairobi’s outskirts, with law enforcement agencies pledging to continue rooting out drug-related crime.
