The Mullah Sh.0.75m heist: Has Maraga finally revisited?

By Henry Kimoli

Is Justice David Maraga revisiting his row with the deep state using his court system? From the blues, and without much persuasion, the Government and taxpayers will pay senior Counsel Ahmed Nassir Abdullahi Sh.0.75million for a windscreen.
A Bentley one at that cannot and bus not expected to cost Sh.10,000. Grand Mullah oozes class. And so are his suits, cars, offices and if you like, the cuisine he eats.

He can afford to treat his family to a holiday in any part of the world.. after all, he is a top lawyer, represents high end clients including President Uhuru Kenyatta among others. He was also the advocate in the fraud case that saw the late Jacob Juma, Sirisia Mp John Walukhe and Grace Wakhungu.

He was a member of the revamped JSC that hired most of the current crop of judges in the High Court, Court of Appeal and even the Supreme Court. Most of these judges will be at his speed dial. We are not alluding to any impropriety or competence of any judges here but we are laying bear the contacts and person of the grand Mullah.

The case in point raises key common sense issues. Was he speeding at the time of the accident? Was he keeping his distance? Did his name intimindste the magistrate? Or is he setting a precedence to fleece the Government? Grand mullah has a right to his claim. But the taxpayers cannot and must never pay him a dime for his troubles.

In fact, his claim should be investigated by the DCI to establish the circumstances under which the accident occurred.
The case time should also be evaluated to establish whether it was fast tracked….because this amounts to abuse of office.

The jury is still out there over the justification of a hefty Sh.0.75 million windscreen award by a Kajiado Court. Was the Honorable Edwin Mulochi, the Kajiado Magistrate duped?

The Grand Mullah ruling in full.
