Renovations at Thika Stadium are progressing well, with several key projects already completed and others nearing the finish line.
The stadium’s perimeter wall, which incorporates modern kiosks, is almost complete. The kiosks will be allocated free of charge to current traders in Thika town, ensuring they benefit directly from the upgrade.
Work on the spectator stands has also been finalized. The existing stands have been renovated, while construction of the previously stalled stand has now been completed.

In addition, the contractor is putting the final touches on a new basketball court, a swimming pool, and a high-yield borehole. The borehole will be solarized to supply water for the pool and to maintain the football field’s grass.
The next phase of the project, set to roll out within the current financial year, will focus on upgrading the football pitch, constructing an indoor arena, building a VIP spectator stand, and completing the main gate.
