A 43-Year-Old woman has been arrested by the police on suspicion of steaking a 4 day old baby.
The woman, Joyce Wambui, was arrested at Ngararia in Kandara, Murang’a County by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Thika West Detectives on Monday.
The incident took place at the Thika Level Five Hospital in Kiambu County, where the child’s mother had requested the suspect to hold the child for a moment as she photocopied some documents. After she was done, it is alleged that she could not find the woman she gave the baby.
The child has since been reunited with the mother, while the suspect remains in police custody, pending investigations.
