Three Officers In Ksh. 40M Insurance Fraud Released

Three Insurance claims officers have been released on a bond of Sh 1 Million after denying 26 counts of Insurance fraud amounting to over Sh 40M.

It is alleged that the three on diverse dates between 20th July 2015 and 3rd July 2020 with intent to defraud CIC General insurance limited facilitated fraudulent liability claims purporting them to be genuine claims with the company.

Michael Kamau Mwangi, Daniel Mwaniki Kahora and Paul Njoroge Waithaka before chief magistrate R.K Ondieki, the three jointly with others not before court conspired to defraud CIC General insurance limited of Sh 41,834,924M through fraudulent claims.

They also faced charges of forgery, fraudulent false accounting handling stolen property and uttering a false document

They are accused of fraudulently processing of public liability claims in favor of clients leading to loss of money by the insurance company; the case will be heard on May 3, 2022.
