Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested the Treasury Director of Resource MobilizationĀ Jackson Kinyanjui, suspected of fraud in the controversial Arror and Kimwarer dam scandal.
The DCI, confirming the arrest on their twitter platform, said the suspect was nabbed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Sunday night December 22, 2019.
The suspect is reported to have been coming back to Kenya from the United States of America where he was allegedly cleared to travel after securing his passport from Milimani Law Courts.
Kinyanjui was charged with deliberately circumventing procurement laws to ensure that the tenders were awarded to the broke Italian firm CMC Di Ravenna.
The remains in police custody as further investigations ensue.
Other suspects in custody include the CEO of the implicated Italian Firm, who was allegedly paid 19 Billion shillings in advance, for the construction he never started.
