Police in Kisumu have launched a manhunt for two female murder suspects who reportedly escaped from Kisumu Maximum Prison in Kodiaga.
According to Kisumu County Police commander Richard Ngeno, prison guards realised that the duo was missing at around 4.00pm on Sunday during a headcount.
The two inmates one hailing from Nyakach while the other from Matayos in Busia County were being held at the women’s facility awaiting sentencing in the Kisumu law courts.
Ngeno however did not share the circumstances under which the escape took place.
