Two released on 2M cash bail for defrauding Jubilee Insurance company over 3.4M

BY PRUDENCE WANZA – Two people have been charged with defrauding Jubilee Insurance Company over 3.4m.

Francis Njau Njogu and Salome Kanyenyo Wariara are accused of conspiring to defraud Jubilee Insurance Ksh.3,400,536 by means of computer data manipulation and making entries to life insurance loans policy through which they purported to show that the said pending loans had been fully paid by the policyholders.

They are alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between March 2018 and 19th March 2017 at Jubilee Insurance company at the head office in Nairobi.

The two denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot at the Milimani law courts.

They were released on a bond of Ksh. 5m or pay an alternative cash bail of Ksh. 2m.

The case will be mentioned on 22nd October 2019 for directions on hearing of the case.
