UberEats Scam: Two Arrested Over $1 Million Fraud

Two individuals, Trayon Morgan and Roy Blackwood, have been apprehended in connection with a sophisticated scam that targeted Uber Eats, resulting in an alleged fraudulent gain of more than $1 million.

The scheme involved creating new accounts, placing orders for pickup under fake aliases, and manipulating the delivery process.

Upon accepting deliveries as the supposed recipients, Morgan and Blackwood reportedly exploited UberEats’ system.

The ride-hailing platform would subsequently issue them a preloaded credit card with $700, which they would misuse to buy gift cards.

Law enforcement agencies meticulously investigated the case for months before gathering enough evidence.

Detectives, conducting surveillance, observed the suspects making stops at a staggering 27 Walgreens locations in a single day.

This unusual behaviour raised red flags, leading to the issuance of arrest warrants for the duo.

Both Trayon Morgan and Roy Blackwood now face serious charges, including an organized scheme to defraud and grand theft.

Their alleged activities highlight the ever-evolving challenges posed by cybercrime and sophisticated fraud techniques, even in seemingly secure online platforms.
