Uhuru Appoints Four New IEBC Commissioners

President Uhuru Kenyatta Thursday appointed the new IEBC commissioners following the approval by MPs yesterday.

The move paves way for the swearing in of Juliana Cherera, Francis Wanderi, Irene Masit, and Justus Abonyo.

Parliament on Wednesday approved the four nominees to be members of the polls body.

The four were chosen among 36 Kenyans that were interviewed to fill the positions vacant at IEBC.

They are now set to replace Roselyn Akombe, Margaret Mwachanya, Paul Kurgat and former vice chair Consolata Maina who resigned from the commission.

The president also appointed TSC commissioners ending a quorum hitch at the commission.

They include Nicodemus Anyang, Christine Kahindi, Sharon Chelagat, Anceta Wafukho, and Salesa Adano and are due to be sworn in today.
