Uhuru Promises To Buy Lunch For Gaucho For Standing With Him During Jubilee Chaos

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has pledged to buy lunch for Self-proclaimed Bunge la Mwananchi president Calvince Okoth alias Gaucho, a steadfast supporter who stood by his side during the tumultuous times of chaos within the Jubilee Party.

During Monday’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) at the Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi, Uhuru praised the youth for showing up to defend their party and stand up to what he called injustice.

“I was not aware our office had been raided but even though I was alone I had to go and defend the property of my people. Some youths showed up to defend their party and resist the injustice that was taking place,” he said.

“I am thankful to them and that Gaucho they have been talking about, if I see him again I will buy you lunch, don’t worry.”

“Police were called and refused to come so these young people had to do what they had to do and God bless them and may they keep up the strong work.”

Uhuru’s visit to the party offices came amid noisy wrangles pitting former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni and East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega factions.

There was pelting of stones that ended with a heavy police deployment, who lobbed teargas to disperse the supporters.

Gaucho was among the youth who accompanied Kenyatta as he arrived to quell the chaos.

At the same time, Kenyatta lashed out at what appeared to be goons who attacked his family’s Northlands farm in Kiambu in March.

Unknown people invaded Kenyatta land along the Nairobi Eastern Bypass, cutting down trees and stealing sheep.

“Those who have been doing whatever they are doing thinking God sleeps, God doesn’t sleep and one day they will face it.”

“Myself and my family we appreciate the much you have done. And I believe that justice will, and must eventually prevail, be it in a year or two years, justice will prevail because God is alive and doesn’t sleep,” he said.
