Leaders allied to the United Opposition coalition on Thursday headed to Kitui Central for the second leg of a two-day tour of Kitui County billed as a popularisation drive ahead of the 2027 elections.

An update shared by the coalition indicated the delegation would criss-cross several constituencies across the county during the April 22–23 tour, with Kitui Central listed among the Day Two stops alongside Kitui East, Kitui Rural and Kitui South.
The first day of the tour covered Kitui West, Mwingi West and Mwingi Central.

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa are part of the delegation.

Jubilee deputy party leader Fred Matiang’i, Democratic Party leader Justin Muturi and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya are also expected to join the tour.
The leaders have been touring different regions in recent weeks as opposition outfits intensify alliances and grassroots mobilisation.
