The Investigating officer in the murder of a 35-year-old Anthony Njomo Kiuno, an American Embassy engineer has informed Court that the fight outside a popular Kiambu nightclub on Saturday night that resulted to the death of the US Embassy engineer was caused by dispute over women.
In a miscellaneous application seeking detention against two potential suspects, Nason Kiteme and Joseph Njenga in the murder of the engineer, the Investigating officer informed Court that the fight began with a dispute between groups accusing each other of seducing their women.
The two potential suspects are said to have been part of two groups enjoying a night out on Saturday when a disagreement over women escalated.
According to the officer, Nason Kiteme was at Quick-in Lounge promoting the music of one musician John Njagi with others when a misunderstanding between tJoseph Njenga and his party arose.
“A fight between the two parties started, where the group of the first respondent (Nason Kiteme) and the second respondent (Joseph Njenga) disagreed about each group accusing the other on seducing their women.”
One of the groups is said to have been under the protection of armed security during the scuffle that spilled outside the nightclub.
“The fight went outside the Quick-in lounge where one group which had armed bouncer shot a reveler who was standing near the fighting zone,” the DCI officer added.
According to investigations, the deceased was not involved in the commotion.
The Court has ordered the two suspects to be remanded for ten days while detectives investigate the murder.
