US records more than 2,000 coronavirus deaths in a single day
The US has recorded more than 2,000 deaths in a single day, the highest number of deaths since the outbreak of the disease.
Figures show 2,108 people died in the past 24 hours while there are now more than half a million confirmed infections.
The US government however says the outbreak seems to be stabilizing but still insisted on taking precautionary measures.
President Donald Trump said the US could experience lower death toll than the initial predictions of 100,000 deaths adding that the government strategies seem to be working.
The US could soon surpass Italy as the country with the most coronavirus deaths worldwide.
