Catholic clergy has urged Kenyans to be sober on discerning politicians with a history of graft and mismanagement.
During a Mass service in the Holy Family Basilica, Rev. Fr. Simon Peter Kamomoe advised the faithful to be firm on their beliefs by electing leaders who represent purity as described in the bible.
“We are at a stage where we hear leaders accusing each other of corruption and theft until we wonder if there are any graft-free leaders in this country. let us make a sober decision on the ballot to choose leaders who are fit to serve.”
Rev. Fr. Kamomoe also urged leaders to exercise their mandate according to how God intended it to be, without mischief.
“To our leaders who are eyeing seats, let us carry out our campaigns and subsequent roles with complete fear of God.”
His sentiments have resonated with a majority of Kenyans who have been critical of aspirants seeking election posts but are tainted in graft.
