Waa, Karima Schools Razed Down

On Saturday, a dormitory at Waa Boy High School in Kwale was destroyed by fire.

The afternoon fire destroyed one of the dormitories, that housed students.

According to police and first responders, no one was hurt in the event.

Ambrose Oloo, the Kwale police chief, said the case is being investigated, promising arrests over the arson incident.

It’s the second school to burn in Kwale in a week, following the destruction of Ngozi Girls’ dormitories in Lungalunga sub-county on Friday.

The cause of the infernos was not immediately determined.

The assaults occurred just days after pupils returned to school following the mid-term break.

In Othaya, Nyeri county, Karima Boys High School dormitory went up in flames.

Residents and teaching staff rushed to the scene to contain the fire.

The incidents are adding to the tally of schools torched by students in this years’ school unrests.
