Waiguru: Ngirici Is An Azimio Mole

Waiguru said during a public rally in Karaini village in Kirinyaga Central on Monday that leaders who are running for independence should not be afraid to declare which party they support.

Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru has claimed that her opponent, who is running as an independent, is secretly a member of the Azimio coalition.

According to the governor, Jubilee Party Vice Chairperson David Murathe’s remarks that the coalition has two candidates in Kirinyaga, Wangui Ngirici and Senator Charles Kibiru, are a clear indication that the leader is in Raila’s political outfit.

She also stated that the two candidates were supported by the state.

Waiguru said during a public rally in Karaini village in Kirinyaga Central on Monday that leaders who are running for independence should not be afraid to declare which party they support.

She also argued that governments are formed by political parties, and that an independent Governor would struggle to push for National Government projects in the county.

Waiguru claimed Kirinyaga was a UDA stronghold and urged county residents to support the UDA brigade from MCA to President. She stated that anyone who has nothing to show for their time in office should not be reelected, and that her development record as governor over the last five years speaks for itself.

While addressing residents of Gathigiri in Mwea afterwards, Waiguru said that the UDA manifesto would address the challenges that rice farmers have been experiencing including the issue of rice importation and provision of subsidized fertilizers.

She also chastised opponents for using propaganda and insults, while others sent goons to disrupt her campaign meetings, instead asking them to sell their agenda and demonstrate what they have done for the residents.

She urged all registered voters to get up early on Election Day to exercise their democratic right to vote.

With just over 30 days until the elections, Governor Waiguru has stepped up her grassroots campaigns in an attempt to persuade voters to give her another term, which she claims will allow her to complete the massive development projects she has been implementing.

She noted the Wezesha Kirinyaga economic empowerment program, through which she has been funding farmers to undertake various agricultural projects in order to increase their incomes.

The governor has implemented massive infrastructure and service delivery reforms in the health sector, including the construction of the Kerugoya Level Five Hospital complex, approximately 20 dispensary projects, and the construction of additional wards in various hospitals throughout the county.

The county’s main towns have received a major facelift in terms of urban development, with the construction of cabro car parks and pavements covering more than 50,000 square meters.

The governor was joined by her running mate David Githanda and other UDA candidates from the county.
