Roots Party On The Rocks Over Raila Endorsement

Ms. Wamae expressed her displeasure at Wajackoyah, terming his announcment a personal decision and not that of the Roots Party.

Prof. George Wajackoyah’s public acknowledgement of Raila Odinga has caused ripples within the Roots Party of Kenya.

Justina Wamae, the Roots Party Presidential runningmate has called out his boss for what he termed as a public endorsement of Raila’s candidacy.

Speaking to Citizen, Ms. Wamae expressed her displeasure at Wajackoyah, terming his announcment a personal decision and not that of the Roots Party.

“2 times a shadow of doubt has been cast on whether we are genuine. I confirm that we have not agreed to take this direction as a party neither have I been consulted. In this regard, I believe we are on course as a party and we are focused on popularizing our manifesto as Roots Party of Kenya.”

Justina further added ‘if push comes to shove’ she would support the ‘contrary’, believed to be DP Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza faction.

“Let me make it clear that if push comes to shove and am asked to support the other 3 Presidential Candidates who are our worthy opponents then; I Justina Wangui Wamae a youth and a woman of sound mind would support the contrary.”

Earlier on, the party spokesperson Jaymo Ule Msee hit out at reports.

“The notion that Prof Wajackoyah has endorsed Raila Odinga is a hopeless imagination and a wishful thinking that only exists in the minds of a biased media,” Jaymo said.
