A section of Members of Parliament led by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino have dared rivals of attempting to impeach Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i.
While appearing before a presser at Parliament, Babu Owino, challenged members who want to impeach Matiang’i to bring the resolution before the House in August.
“Dr. Matiang’i was appointed by the president to execute his duties inherently but coming up with made-up issues that Dr Matiang’i is not attending committee meetings and that is the sole reason for the impeachment that doesn’t hold water,” Owino stated.
He added that those advocated for the impeachment, including Nyali MP Mohammed Ali, were sent by Deputy President William Ruto.
“This gang is led by Hon. Mohamed Ali from Nyali and we are telling them that we will build a separate Parliament for him so that he can make noise alone.”

Dr. Fred Matiangi has been regarded by many as the most hard working ‘Super CS’ who’s departments have performed extremely well.
His demeanor as a no-nonsense government official has however labelled him as an agent of the ‘deep state’.
In the midst of political wrangles between Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, Dr. Matiang’i has come under sharp criticism for being given roles that belonged to the deputy president.
He chairs important cabinet meetings that would normally be spearheaded by DP Ruto.
