Woman,37, Who Stabbed Boyfriend Claims Self-Defense

A woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend says she acted in self-defense after the boyfriend attempted to rape her.

The 37-year-old woman suspected of stabbing and injuring her boyfriend told an Eldoret judge that she moved in self-defense because he had threatened to rape her.

“I assaulted him because he was about to rape me.” “I would have been raped by this man and possibly infected with a sexually transmitted disease if I had been weak,” Ms Maureen Naliaka told the court.

“If it were not my strength, today I would be the victim of sexual assault and even a subject of grievous harm,” she told Eldoret Senior Principal Magistrate Richard Odenyo.
