Two Released On Ksh 700,000 Bond Over Fake COVID Vaccine

Two individuals have been released on bond after impersonating doctors and administering what are thought to be fake Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

Wallace Mugendi and Kenneth Mukundi were granted a Ksh. 700,000 or a Ksh. 300,000 cash bail.

The offenders were apprehended on Tuesday at Crane Hospital in Kasarani, near Lumumba Drive, where they were selling the bogus vaccines for Ksh.3000 each.

The defendants were expected to face charges of distributing bogus Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccinations.

The illegal vaccination took place on several occasions between July and August 2021, and it was discovered on September 7, 2021.
