102 new Covid-19 cases recorded as female and male tie at 51 24 hrs

Kenya recorded 102 Covid -19 cases raising the no to 35,205,2,668 individuals were tested in the last 24hours. This raised the cumulative tests to 477,145 persons since the first case was reported.


In terms of sex distribution men and women tied at 51 with youngest being a one -year-old infant while the oldest 86 years old. 
Geographical distribution in counties Nairobi continues to lead with 41 cases in the last 24 hours.


Further Kitui had 11, Kiambu 7, Mombasa 6, Turkana 4 and Nyeri 4. Good news ,80 patients recovered from the disease, cumulatively number of recoveries in the country stands at 21,310. 30 were discharged from the home-based program, while 50 were from various health facilities.


Two patients succumbed to the virus with number of fatalities rising to 599. Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefing at Afya house CAS Dr. Rashid Aman warned politicians against flouting ministry of health covid-19 protocols.


“Those who are holding these gatherings are going against the rule, these people risk action being taken against them for flouting these regulations.” Said Dr. Rashid.
