On Thursday, Kenya reported 511 new Covid-19 instances out of a total of 6,406 cases tested in the previous 24 hours. The country’s positivity level stands at 6.4 percent.
Since March, a total of 2,478,820 tests have been conducted in Kenya, producing a total of 245,337 confirmed cases.
488 Kenyans and 23 foreigners are among the latest cases, with 227 men and 219 women proven to have received the virus.
The youngest is a one-year-old baby, while the oldest is a 99-year-old woman.
During the same time span, 12 patients died from the infection. The total number of people who have died as a result of Covid-19 is now 4,961.
273 people have recovered from the disease, with 105 being discharged from the Home-Based Care Program and 168 from various institutions.
There are currently 1,483 patients in various health facilities across the country, with another 3,323 on Home Based Isolation and Care.
121 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 85 are on ventilatory support, 28 are on supplementary oxygen, and 8 are under monitoring, according to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe.
A total of 564 patients are on supplemental oxygen, 522 of them are admitted to the general wards. The High Dependency Unit has 42 patients (HDU).
