UDA allied Senators are set for a second round as the Senate opens its doors for the first reading of the Political Parties Amendment Bill, which was passed by the National Assembly.

After a series of chaotic nights, the bill sailed through the house assembly with Azimio Raila parties trouncing their opponents.

Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka said he has already received a request from House leadership for a special session, which he will gazette following a House Business Committee meeting on Friday.

The bill must be referred to the Senate’s Justice, Legal, and Human Rights Affairs Committee, which is chaired by Nyamira Senator Okongo Omugeni.

Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, the Minority Whip and a member of the JLAC committee, stated that they will have to follow all processes, including soliciting public input.
