Ruto Takes Campaign To ANC Backyard

On Thursday, Deputy President William Ruto visited Vihiga County, known to be an ANC haven.

He made a number of stops along the way, speaking to his fans about his presidential campaign.

Ruto urged Kenyans to fight attempts to reintroduce an imperial presidency through the backdoor at one of his stops.

He claimed that some individuals “who believe they can govern Kenyans” were hatching plans to reinstate the imperial presidency.

Kenyans, according to Ruto, overwhelmingly approved the 2010 Constitution, which, among other things, abolished the imperial presidency.

“A few wealthy individuals believe that they can sit in a certain Nairobi hotel and pick their puppet president to handle our country’s affairs and defend their interests and fortune,” Ruto added.

He added that Kenyans are eager and willing to vote for leaders who have plans and agenda that can transform the lives of ordinary people.

The DP is set to land in Eldoret Town for a mega rally slated for Saturday.
