DJ Brownskin Released On Sh 200,000 Bond

DJ Brown, who is being held for 14 days, was charged with three counts of aiding suicide, neglect to prevent a felony, and destroying evidence after deleting videos he had posted on social media about his wife Sharon Njeri's suicidal attempt at their home in July of last year.

Michael Macharia, also known as DJ Brownskin, was released on Ksh 100,000 cash bail after being charged with assisting his wife’s suicide.

After finding compelling reasons to keep DJ Brownskin in custody pending the criminal hearing, Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina ordered his release on an alternative bond of Ksh 200,000.

“I find that the pre-bail report table in court favours the accused persons herein by confirming that he has a well know fixed abode by the state. This to me confirms the accused is not a flight right and l will grant him bond terms as per the law, ” Onyina ruled.

DJ Brownskin’s request that the Ksh 50,000 previously deposited in Makadara court be used as cash bail in the current case has also failed.

This comes after the judge advises him to seek the money in the Makadara Law Courts.
