Jubilee Saga: Court Blocks Kanini From Withdrawing Azimio Membership

Jeremiah Kioni factions have been granted a reprieve after the Political Party Dispute Tribunal issued orders prohibiting the Kanini Kega Faction from convening any Jubilee party meetings.

Jeremiah Kioni, David Murathe, Kagwe Gichohi, and the Jubilee party filed a complaint with the PPDT alleging that the Kanini Kega factions disregarded earlier court orders that the status quo be maintained and that no one other than Kioni is authorized to issue a communication on behalf of the party.

The petitioners also claimed that the respondents issued two notices seeking to withdraw the party from the Azimio coalition and to hold a special National Delegates Convention.

The petitioners cited the two notices as weighty decisions with far-reaching consequences for the Jubilee Party and should therefore await court rulings.

“The respondents conduct is clearly therefore a willful attempt to undermine the orders and authority and to defeat the substratum of the disputes before the Tribunal,”reads the papers
