DP Gachagua: We Have No Problem With Outgoing President

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has clarified the rumored feud between him and former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking in an interview with KTN on Sunday, the second-in-command stated that he harbors no ill will toward the former president, emphasizing that the alleged animosity was “all politics” and had nothing to do with him personally.

DP Gachagua also stated that he has a strong friendship with Mr. Kenyatta and that they will meet for a cup of tea to catch up on the “good old days” after the political dust settles.

“We have no problem with the outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta, we wish him well in retirement and infact myself, he has been my buddy for 20 years, when things settle down I will look for him,” he said.

“This was all politics, there was nothing personal. He wanted this way and I wanted another, I have won he has lost and we move on. And I will look for him we have a cup of tea, we have a chat and catchup on the good old days.”

In recent public addresses, including his inauguration speech on September 13, DP Gachagua has attacked Uhuru, blaming him for the country’s “dilapidated” state.

He did, however, clarify that his speech was motivated by a desire to inform Kenyans of the truth rather than a personal vendetta against Uhuru.
