DPP Orders Arrest Of Hate-Mongers In Facebook Group

The Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution has ordered the arrest of rogue Facebook group members who posted messages of incitement to violence.

The group, Lamu County Politics Unlimited is under investigation after a section of its members were found to be publishing content that may incite feelings of contempt, hatred, hostility, violence towards certain ethnic groups.

“Our attention has been drawn to a Facebook account known as Lamu County Politics Unlimited Group with persons using the following pseudonyms:

Catherine Dylan, Cyte Nimz Maina, Muthoni Martha, Lucy Peter, Anthony Mambo, Njeri E. Mwaniki, Frank Mwangi, Josh Mhumble, Alphaken Madiba, Paul Keta Sikujua, David Brighton and Ndirangu Ken respectively.” the statement read.

Noordin Haji has since instructed the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to make necessary investigstions.

“Consequently, I hereby direct you to institute comprehensive investigations into the said publications and submit the resultant investigation file within thirty days (30) days hereof.”

So far, three politicians are under investigations over hate speech remarks.

Meru Senator Mithika Linturi, Kericho Senators Aaron Cheruiyot and Abubakar Amana from Lamu county.
