A Netherlands National has been arraigned in a Nairobi Court facing charges of indecent act with a minor.
Jan In’t Veld alias Dad ok alias Teacher Jan alias Mzungu was today arraigned at Nairobi Children’s Court where the prosecution charged him with committing an indecent act with a child contrary to section 11 of the sexual offences Act.
The prosecution alleges that the suspect between April 2022 and June 2022 within Turbo Sub County in Uasin Gishu County, he intentionally, unlawfully, and indecently touched the genitals of a male minor aged 16 years.
He was also charged with intentionally and unlawfully communicating with a minor through WhatsApp in a manner intended to encourage the minor to communicate in a sexual manner.
Further, he faced another charge of sharing pornographic images and videos with the minor through his WhatsApp account intending to encourage the minor to engage in sexual acts.
Consequently, he was charged with Child abuse where the prosecution alleged that the suspect on diverse dates between January 16 and May 26, 2022, intentionally and unlawfully received obscene images of minors aged 10 and 7 years for the purposes of sexual gratification.
Appearing before Milimani Law Courts Children’s Court in Nairobi, the accused denied all the charges and was remanded in custody until Monday when the Court is expected to issue a ruling on whether to release him on bond or not.
