The Kenya Film Commission has announced a strategic partnership with camera equipment maker Canon USA to build capacity among Kenya filmmakers.
Announcing the news at an ongoing meet up between Kenya Film Commission and the winners of the just concluded Kalasha 2019 awards, the commission said it will continue to boost efforts in building world-class film industry players.
“We have signed an MoU with Canon CNA to hold master classes in the various counties to boost the quality of production in the country and build the capacity of the Kenyan creatives.” said KFC communications in a tweet.
Canon USA has authorized dealers and customer support in Kenya located at Nairobi CBD as well as along Mombasa Road.
The meet that was graced by Kenyan film industry players also played host to an announcement of a partnership with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation to implement studio mashinani project.
” We have also forged a strategic partnership with Kenya Broadcasting Corporation to implement the studio machinani – a project aimed at creating a platform for the creatives in the various counties to produce quality Kenyan content. “
The winners of the Kalasha Award will receive cash rewards among other strategic key partnerships that will boost their careers, such as a winners hub to build on submitted scripts.
