Four KeNHA Officials Killed In Suspected Al Shabaab Attack In Garissa

    Four people, who are engineers from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA), were killed when their vehicle was attacked by suspected Al Shabaab militants in Bura East, Garissa County, on Wednesday.

    The engineers were conducting a routine assessment of the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport (LAPSSET) Corridor project.

    According to police, an Improvised Explosion Device (IED) planted on the old LAPSSET road exploded and completely destroyed the first vehicle, a Toyota Hilux Double Cabin with the registration number KBV 520S.

    Three bodies were recovered from the scene, with the fourth believed to have perished in the wreckage.
