Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka will soon be crowned a Kikuyu elder by the community.
Kalonzo, the last vice president in the history of Kenya is seeking the support of the GEMA ahead of the 2022 elections.
Kalonzo is involved in a bitter succession race with Azimio’s Raila Odinga with whom he has twice attempted to block President Kenyatta from ascending to power.
Kalonzo and Raila have had a difficult political relationship.
Between 2008 and 2010 both men engaged in turf wars over who was senior between the prime minister and vice president during Kibaki’s nusu-mkate government.
Between 2002 and 2007
Kalonzo and Raila formed and split the LDP party, assembled ODM before tearing it apart.
Kalonzo ran away with ODM Kenya and Raila retained the original ODM to date.
Fast forward to 2018, Raila abandons his 2017 running mate and shakes hands with Uhuru at another political table.
Feeling jilted, Kalonzo procures a chair, forces himself to the table and demands his share of the handshake.
Now, Kalonzo says Raila must retire with Uhuru, while Raila says Kalonzo must support him.
