Kingi Faulted For ODM Exit

Kilifi Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairman Teddy Mwambire has faulted a decision by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi to move out of the party, saying that it is a wrong decision he took and which will forever haunt his political career.

Mr Mwambire who is also Ganze MP was speaking at Zia Ra Wimbi Primary School in Bamba ward when he donated education materials by the South African Embassy to assist in the learning of the pupils.

“Governor Kingi was misled by a group of people who will soon laugh at him when his political star crumbles down. What the Governor must understand is that Kilifi County is an ODM zone and that will still remain and he will be here to witness this,” Mr Mwambire said.

He was accompanied by Bamba MCA Christopher Mwambire and his Ganze counterpart Rev Benson Chengo.

Governor Kingi fell out with ODM leader Raila Odinga and moved out of the party early this year. He was again the brains for the formation of the Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) political party with its roots in Kilifi.

“I would wish to invite him back to ODM because that is where he belongs. Unfortunately, he has been blindfolded by a group of cartels who have since his departure from ODM has made sure that his political career falls on blocks. Let him come back and repent but his efforts of trying to sell his PAA agenda to Kilifi will fail miserably. He needs to be told the truth,” the MP said.

The lawmaker also told off, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa who had earlier on Monday said that ODM was dead in Kilifi and that it is time UDA takes the mantle in the region.

“Ms Jumwa talks to please Deputy President William Ruto and we know that. The truth she knows is that ODM enjoys massive support in Kilifi and she will soon realize that the party she has been singing around has no impact in the region.

The Bamba and Ganze MCAs maintained that they were in ODM to stay and that there were several attempts to woo them to join PAA but said that can’t happen.

“I am an ODM member, I was elected in an ODM ticket in Bamba ward, so I am an ODM member and that is the only party I entrust and not anything else,” said Christopher Mwambire.

Mr Chengo, who was elected on a Kadu Asili ticket, said he had joined ODM recently and his focus is to make sure that they sell the ODM agenda to the Kilifi people.

“There have been several calls trying to coerce us to join PAA but I will not and my focus is in ODM and nothing else,” said Mr Chengo.
