Governor Mike Sonko goes wild on news paper after damning Headline

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has this morning breathed fire on a local daily after a controversial heading that described his current state as a ‘Wailing Governor’. By Gerald Gekara

The article that was published on Wednesday 18, Standard Newspaper front page reffered to Mike Sonko’s woes as the governor who has lost all his power and relevance in Kenya’s politics.

Mike Sonko termed the headline as false and misleading, accusing the daily for using his name to sell newspapers.

“K******** ZENU GAZETI NI ZA KUFUNGA NYAMA. Instead of using taxpayers money to give free masks and sanitizers to the public during this COVID-19 period you are busy buying headlines against me. SHAME ON YOU K******** NYINYI SIKU YENU ITAFIKA.” Sonko tweeted.

Since his decision to hand over key functions to the National government, Sonko has been out of the limelight.

He is faced with a corruption case in court, and continues to battle the State House sanctioned Nairobi Metropolitan Services over the control of the capital.

In a viral video recorded during a Senate Committee meeting, Governor Sonko wildly accused NMS of being used by ‘hidden hands from State house’ to control the allocation of funds in the county.

“Jail me! There’s life in prison.

Impeach me! There’s life after politics.

Kill me! There’s life after death where my late father and our beloved founding father of the Republic of Kenya the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta are resting in peace.

But there’s no amount of intimidation that will be used against me to force me to breach the law by giving funds to an illegal entity.” Sonko said.
