Four body guards of Governor Mike Sonko have been rearrested shortly after being on bail for causing chaos outside Integrity Centre on Tuesday November 5.

The body guards are said to have ben rearrested after Sonko paid their cash bail on charges of resisting arrest and causing chaos.

The four, spend Tuesday night in custody after chaos erupted at the EACC headquarters where Sonko had been summoned for questioning over giving false information in his declaration form  prior to the 2017 general elections

The bodyguards; Richard Bosire, John Abok, Kennedy Odhiambo and Joseph Mwangi were charged this morning at the Milimani law Courts where they denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Ksh.100,000 each.

They were however rearrested on Wednesday afternoon on new charges of allegedly assaulting police officers.

Yesterday Governo Sonko together with his bodyguards were caught on camera slapping a journalist as they entered the EACC offices. This, prompting the Media Council of Kenya to call upon authorities for speedy investigations in to the matter

The Council expressed its dissatisfaction with how the police did not take any measures to protect the journalist but instead hauled teargas canisters at the reporters to prevent them from recording the happenings.
