IEBC Promises Cooperation With Four New Commissioners

The Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission has welcomed the four new Commissioners who were appointed following a rigorous recruitment process.

The four Commissioners are Juliana Cherera, Francis Wanderi, Irene Masit, and Justus Nyang’aya. In the last 4 days, the Commissioners have undergone an induction program that included corporate governance and Commission operations.

They have also been introduced to the IEBC Senior Management staff at the Headquarters as well as the County Election Managers.

IEBC said the commissioners have committed to deliver a successful election.

“The Commission is also pleased to announce that the Chairman and the Six Commissioners have given their personal commitment to supporting one another and working very closely with the Secretariat in order to deliver a successful and credible 2022, General Election.”

IEBC also announced the launch of an Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) activity in the month of October 2021, for a period of 30 days.

In this exercise, the Commission targets to register at least Six Million (6,000,000) new voters at the County Assembly Ward level.

IEBC appealed to security agencies to collaborate with the Commission to ensure a secure environment for the conduct of elections.
