Iovinella: Prolific Footballer Turned Pornstar

When people seek a career shift, they frequently do it by leaving a corporate nine-to-five office job, but not for one Davide Iovinella.

Davide Iovinella quit his day job as a footballer, one of the most sought-after jobs in the world, to pursue a career as an adult film star.

According to the Sun, he decided to hang up his boots and quit his job at the age of 24, allowing him to pursue his ambition of working in the adult film industry.

Iovinella was a player for ASD Caldio Pomigliano in Serie D when he realized he wasn’t earning enough money and that he might earn more money elsewhere.

He then auditioned for a position in an adult film and was chosen as one of 3,000 applicants to work with director Rocco Siffredi after a successful audition.

Iovinella travelled to Budapest to visit Siffredi’s Academy, where he assumed the stage name Davide Montana, as he’s now known on Instagram.

According to the Sun, Iovinella stated of his professional choice, “It’s not like being in bed with your lover, therefore you have to work hard and be reliable.”

He spent some time in Budapest in 2018, and said that he planned to try to locate a local club there.

“The ideal would be to find a club in Hungary,” he added.

Of course, he isn’t the only one who has abandoned the football field in favor of a somewhat unexpected new career path.

Former footballer Eric Cantona is one of the most famous instances, having famously turned his back on sport to try his hand at acting, which he turned out to be rather successful at.

Then there’s German ex-Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim goalkeeper Tim Wiese, who chose to quit the football game in order to step into the ring as a WWE fighter known as ‘The Machine’.

Wiese made his professional wrestling debut in Munich in November 2016, where he was teamed with Irish wrestler Sheamus and Cesaro (aka Claudio Castagnoli) to defeat tag team Primo and Epico – known as The Shining Stars – and Florida-born Bo Dallas.
